Hello dear friends,
I am blessed and fortunate to have the greatest parents in the world. One of the many things I am grateful for is that when I was a little kid they used to make me fall asleep by playing classical music vinyls. Soon I started not to fall asleep but to listen to that magnificent music. And my all time favorite still is Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. In his music I always discover all the tragic dreams of the Russian taiga. All the melodrama and the fatalism of the Russian monarchy and all the strength of Russia are blended in his music.
He was born in April/May 1840 and died in October/November 1893. He is known as the first Russian composer with large international success and a prolific one. He wrote symphonies, concertos, operas, ballets, chamber music and also a choral setting of the Russian Divine Liturgy. He was honored by the Emperor Alexander the III. He graduated from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and his music transcends the stereotypes of the Russian music of those times.
Feel free to discover the greatest Russian composer and dream on while the music plays…
